Weekday and Weekend Walks, and Weekend Coach Outings

Sunday Coach Trip with BOC
to WWT Slimbridge, Glos.

Date: Sunday 22 January 2017 at 07:30

Details:

You are invited to join with the BOC for a trip to this iconic WWT reserve. It will be at the height of its winter season, with many wild Bewick’s Swans, White-fronted Geese and other wildfowl and waders out on the marshes and fields, including reintroduced wild Common Cranes. There is an extensive captive wildfowl collection of over 100 species and a very good restaurant. We expect to arrive by 9.30 a.m. and we don't leave until after the spectacular floodlit feed on Rushy Pool.

Pick up at 7.30 a.m. from Reading University Whiteknights Park, main entrance (RG6 6UR), Shinfield Road. Parking is available on Elmhurst Rd. at the side of the park.

The cost of a seat was £21, but this has now been reduced to £15 due to a really good winter-rate deal for the coach. The £15 is payable in advance to Berkshire Ornithological Club.

To book: contact Ray Reedman, tel: 0118 9864338 or meander2@hotmail.com

N.B. Entrance to the reserve is free to WWT members, but non-members need to pay for admission. Ray has arranged group prices for us of £10.42 (£8.03 concessions).
