Heyhaven habitat

A sea wall separates mud flats and salt marshes on one side from brackish lagoons and pastures on the other. Hope to see Dartford warbler, linnet, stonechat, wheatear, kingfisher alongside Brent geese, turnstone, dunlin, plover, little egret, black-tailed godwit, shoveler, teal, wigeon, gadwall and pintail.

Facilities: toilets at the car park and food at the pub opposite. The Solent Way path along the sea wall is level and well surfaced. It goes all the way to Lymington, 4.5 miles away. We shall not be going that far, but a round trip of five miles is likely. There are footpaths into the pastures - these are not surfaced and can be muddy.
