Heyhaven habitat

A sea wall separates mud flats and salt marshes on one side from brackish lagoons and pastures on the other. We hope to see some of - Dartford warbler, linnet, stonechat, wheatear and kingfisher. Most likely are Brent goose, turnstone, dunlin, plover, little egret, black-tailed godwit, shoveler, teal, wigeon, gadwall and pintail.

Facilities: toilets at the car park and food at the pub opposite. The Solent Way path along the sea wall is level and has a reasonable surface. It goes all the way to Lymington, four and a half miles away. We shall not be going that far, but a round trip of five miles is probable. There are footpaths into the pastures - these are not surfaced and can be muddy.
