Reports, with Bird Lists, of our Meetings, Walks and Outings

Braywick LNR 2015
Wednesday morning walk

Date: Wednesday 21 October 2015 at 10:00

Details:

On a rather wet morning 14 people turned up for a walk with the warden, Jason Mills. He told us about the local nature reserve and how most of it was once a landfill site.

We walked up around the pond area, then through a meadow which has been planted with some wildflowers to attract the butterflies.

We walked along the stream which is known as ‘The Cut’, which flows into the River Thames at Bray Marina.

The number of birds seen was quite small due to the weather - only 22 species were seen.

The group went to see our Alder tree, which was planted on our 40th Anniversary. It seems to have grown about 18 inches since last October.
