BIRDING IN THE DESERT, A TRIP TO OMAN AND LIBYA by Paul Bowden

Date: Thursday 20 October 2011 at 19:30

Details:

Desert Wheatear

Paul Bowden has visited many parts of the world to watch, photograph and film birds.  The first half of his talk concentrated on the Sultanate of Oman where Paul was very fortunate in having one of his former students as a guide with transport provided by the Sultan! We were shown still images initially, followed by HD video with sound.

After the break, Paul explained that he had fortunately visited Libya before there were any signs of unrest and had a very productive birding trip.  Again still images were followed by video.

At the end of his presentation, Paul was asked how he managed  the necessary equipment for bird watching, photography and video in the field.  Apparently a very helpful wife is the answer!

Over 50 members and friends enjoyed a very interesting, well-presented and original evening.
