The RSPB 40th Big Garden Birdwatch results are in for Berkshire.

Throughout the UK, 472,758 of us counted a staggering 7,669,138 birds.

House sparrow remains at the top of the rankings with almost 1.2 million sightings throughout the weekend, but 15 of the top 20 species returned fewer sightings than in 2018.

Across the UK, long-tailed tits decreased by more than 27% and wrens by 17% since last year. Goldfinch and wood pigeon continue to do well, house sparrow continue to show at least a partial recovery.
